Jorge Jiménez (Spain) – baroque violin
Unlocked – open. In times of isolation, the title of the programme submitted by the Spanish violinist Jorge Jiménez gains an almost prophetic character. Compositions by Jiménez himself, virtuoso Tartini, Bach partitas, poems by the great Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, and finally Follia commemorating the late Krzysztof Penderecki – this seemingly exotic mix gains a surprising consistency in the artist’s solo violin interpretation, leading the listener through the diverse musical landscape of the past centuries and their contemporary reinterpretations.
